I watched this informative SBS documentary on my mac today.
I've never heard of this pioneering visual artist, who merged photo and graphic art. He brought fine art to commercial art, at the same time, leaving a shackle of Bauhaus behind.
I found it very fascinating, that 60's Pop Art did exactly the opposite, I mean, they lifted advertising to the status of fine art.
He detested it.
Interestingly, he became a good friend of Pollock, through Lee Krasner. He also worked with Charles and Ray Eames.
This really is a great documentary, and I loved it.
