Andrea Wallace, exhibition opening

I first met Andrea during a life drawing class at Last Peek Studio in Thornbury.

I was immediately taken by her delicate, extremely detailed pencil drawings.

Her feathery touch, and sinuous lines are just beautiful to look at.

This exhibition at ARCVic in Surrey Hills features her recent drawings.

There are figurative works that include dancers, nude.

I was able to see tiny fingernails, and even eyelashes. She can draw such a fine details without compromise. 

Also, fantastic drawings of animals, birds. I particularly love this rhino.
Her technique is so good that I can almost feel the hardness of its skin. That must be very hard to do with a soft pencil. I was stunned.
   

To know someone like her and have an opportunity to draw or paint together is really a great pleasure.
