I've started to paint outside recently, and found it very challenging.
The constantly changing weather, people, cars, bicycles, noise......
However, at the end of the day, looking at what I painted, I feel enormous sense of satisfaction, no mater how bad my paintings are.
And I've noticed that people are very nice, giving me some compliments, some actually take photos of my painting.
I used to think it's a bit daunting to paint among many strangers, but, I'm used to it now.
I'm really loving it, and I hope I will get better at it.
Peter Brown is a great artist in the UK, known as "Pete the Street".
I love his style of painting. Because he mostly paints outside, they're very painterly, not so much details, capturing essence of the scene in a bold stroke of brushes.
He's a master of painting an atmosphere in a short period of time.
In this DVD, he goes to London and Bantham Bay and Burgh Island in Devon.
What's really amazing is, he doesn't stop painting even if it starts to rain. And watching him adjust his style to fickle weather is fascinating.
He's so comfortable painting outside that nothing seems to stop his love for painting.
It's a very educational and inspirational program and combined with his great sense of humour, this is a great DVD to watch again and again.
