Bendigo Art Gallery : The Body Beautiful in Ancient Greece

It was an unusually hot but splendid day here in Melbourne, and I drove up to Bendigo in the morning.

This is another blockbuster exhibition at this beautiful gallery. I don't know how they do it, but, it's great to see very high quality collections of art in regional Victoria.

The exhibition showcases ancient Greek artefacts focusing on human body. I'm always drawn to marble sculptures and there are many great ones here, although most of them are copies of originals, created by Romans who had a very high regard for ancient Greek art.

I did some drawings in the gallery and really enjoyed it.
