Paint Out Day with Gregory Smith

What a lovely day! A beautiful warm spring day with no winds.

We had a Paint Out Day near Le Page Homestead at Plenty Gorge Park in Hawkstowe, 20 km north-east of Melbourne.

This is truly a magnificent place to paint. It offers beautiful 360° panoramic view, with a wide variety of trees, gorge, a river.....

The homestead itself is really gorgeous with blue stones.

I decided not to paint it, though. It's way too much a challenge for me at the moment.

I found a good place to paint sky, grass, trees and a barn.

I'm reasonably happy with its composition and sky, but, again, trees and grass are very difficult to deal with.

However, at the end of the day, I felt great just being there painting with other creative minds.

I'll definitely go back and do some more paintings.
