I went back to Le Page Homestead at Plenty Gorge Park in Hawkstowe.
I set up my easel away from the homestead area and closer to its entrance.
I don't know why but I'm always attracted to a road moving away from me.
Obviously it gives a depth of field, and I think it tells some sort of story.
Now I think the slope of the road is a bit too steep. I'm ok with trees at the back and the sky.
I also tried to capture the effect of light, but, I'm not sure about that.
It's been for a while since I painted outside on my own. It feels a bit weird now.
Still, being in the field, listening to good music, focusing on my painting..... is a wonderful way of spending a beautiful autumn afternoon here in Melbourne.
Oil on panel. 16 x 20 in.
