I started to put some colours today.
I had no idea where I should start, Greg told me to create stronger contrast using White and Black.
Then I put Burnt Sienna on almost all subjects except a cat and a horse.
Because the main focus of this painting is a cat, I spent a lot of time on it. Initially I was doing lots of small features, but, Greg told me not to be bogged down with details and focus more on creating three dimensionality of the shape first. That was a great advice.
Then I spent some time working on books at front and a bit at back.
Towards the end of session, I mixed whatever colours left on the palette, and used it to paint a table, and it worked very well.
I'm reasonably happy with its progress so far, and looking forward to the next session.
Work in progress.
Oil on panel. 16 x 20 in.
