We drove to Bright. It's a beautiful town surrounded by high mountains with brilliant autumn colours.
We're very lucky there happens to be Autumn Festival and many gardens and art studios are open to visit.
After lunch at Ginger Baker, we went to Mystic Mountain Art And Craft Studio. This gorgeous garden is run by artist Barry and Annemarie, and we had a great chat.
Then we set up easels outside the garden. Again, the setting is just beautiful with brilliant colours of nature.
Because of the mountain at back, we lost the light after only an hour, and it was very difficult to finish this one.
It's very sketchy, but I'm reasonably happy with this one.
It was a great experience.
Oil on panel. 10 x 12 in.
Earlier in the day, we had a look at autumn art show at Bright Art Gallery.
I was very impressed by this exhibition, it's quite a large collection, and the quality is very high.
My painting teacher Gregory Smith is exhibiting, and he's awarded High Commendation.
It's a small study of grapes, and I thought I have to get one, and I did!
