Paint Out Day

I drove to Williamstown Botanic Gardens this morning. The monthly event has been organised by John from Victorian Artists Society. It's always great to see familiar faces. 

There're many good spots to paint. I saw a lady painting this footpath and I thought it's great, and set up my easel here. 

 

A legendary painter Ray Hewitt was painting as well. I couldn't resist a temptation to have a look at it. I spent some time talking with him, and he was kind enough to give me some advice on my painting.  

Soon the sun came out and I tried to capture the effect of light. 

I spent 2.5 hours. It was a great day. 

Now, off to members' preview of Van Gogh exhibition at NGV. Very exciting.
