Plein Air Oil Painting

I caught up with my friend Tim to paint together. He had suggested Trentham, about 1.5 hour drive north west of Melbourne. 

It's really a charming town, and I like it a lot. 

There happened to be a local art show, and then we went to waterfall. 

 

It's an impressive place. I'd like to come back again, possibly paint at the bottom, it seemed possible to walk there. 

We decided to set up easels here at Quarry St Recreation Reserve in town. The light was irresistible. 

 

I had a great chat with a gentleman in his 90s, lots of his life stories. 

I spent 3 hours. It was a great day.
