Oil Painting lesson with Gregory Smith

I started today by refining the shell on the right. Greg put darks underneath it, which I wasn't able to see. It changed a whole thing. It suddenly became more solid. 

I also tried to give it stronger shadows in order to create three dimensional illusion. 

I spent the rest of the session working on the shell at the back. 

I think it's getting there.
