Plein Air Oil Painting

I drove to Newham, an hour drive north-west of Melbourne, this morning. 

It's always great to catch up with fellow artists, Paul and Tim, and paint together. 

Paul suggested this spot, looking towards Mt Macedon from Colwells Rd. 

 

I just love spending time together with the guys, exchanging ideas back and forth. 

I think this is a lovely sketch although sheep don't look right. I spent 2 hours.

Then, Paul and I drove further east and set up easel here, looking towards Hanging Rock. 

 

Late afternoon light was incredible. However, it got really cold and we decided to pack up. 

I spent 2 hours.  It was a great day.
