This monthly plein air painting event is organised by John from Victorian Artists Society.
I’ve never been here before. It’s a beautiful space with freshwater swimming holes and a variety of trees everywhere.
I forgot to take a photo of the scene :(
I’m looking at a cliff. I had a big problem painting it, but Greg gave me some suggestions. I spent 2 hours.
Oil on canvas. 14x18 in.
There’s a private house on top of the cliff and we had lunch there. The owner Andrew and Catherine were extremely kind. They told us lots of fascinating stories about the area. We were very fortunate to have this opportunity.
Then, I decided to set up my easel here, looking down towards the gorge.
This one was very difficult. I had to fight against gusty winds constantly, holding the canvas and easel at the same time. It was extremely challenging. Considering that, I think I did all right.
I spent 2.5 hours.
Oil on canvas. 14x18 in.
It was great to see familiar faces again, also some new painters.
I had a wonderful time today.
