I remember reading ‘Thus Spoke Zarathustra’ in Japanese when I was at uni. You know things you do when you’re at that sensitive age to impress girls. I had absolutely no idea what he was trying to say. Nietzsche was just popular among students for his sheer destructive force.
Robert C. Solomon and Kathleen Higgins did a superb job here to dissect his complex ideas and present them in plain English.
I can’t say I understood everything in there. There are some lectures I needed to listen to again and again.
However, at the end of lecture 24, I think I got at least some rudimentary concepts on his life, ideas and their impact on our own life.
