I dropped in Castlemaine Art Museum to get some information.
They have lovely collection of tonal painters. High Ramsay, Max Meldrum, Clarice Beckett....
Then, I went to the studio of David Moore. The website gave me a wrong address, but, I finally found the place. Beautiful heritage listed property.
He’s a son of Graham Moore, Greg’s painting mentor.
There were great paintings displayed in the house. I had a good chat with him. Very inspiring.
Then I drove to Old Castlemaine Gaol. It turned out, they are renovating the building, there’s no one around. Very quiet.
I’m not sure about its composition. In hindsight, I should’ve shifted it a bit to the side. Maybe?
It got cloudy very quickly and very windy. I’m glad I managed to finish it. It was a struggle against the wind , but I enjoyed it.
Oil on canvas. 14x18 in.
