‘Hugh Ramsay Award‘ night

Once a year, students of Gregory Smith School of Painters gather together and have an exhibition, and all submissions are voted by peers to select the award. It was named after a great tonal painter from Essendon, Melbourne. 

I like this event, seeing familiar faces and meeting people I’ve never met. Friends and families, those who love painting and appreciate what it means to be alive right now. 

It’s also an occasion to celebrate Greg’s dedication to tonal realism painting, and his passion for teaching. For over 29 years, I was told. We’re very fortunate and privileged to have this great artist/teacher.
